Description   Typically used on porous materials such as cardboard, light-colored raw wood, paper etc. after it has been processed with Ninhydrin.  Silver Nitrate reacts to the chlorides (salt) in latent prints by producing silver chloride which turns gray when exposed to light.  It can be sprayed, dipped into, or brushed on.  Be sure to photograph the developed prints immediately as a dark-brown stain will permanently fill the background.  Not suitable for items that have been wet.  It can possibly interfere with examinations for body fluids, handwriting, trace evidence, etc.   Related Products...
