According to the ASPCA, dogs can suffer from sunburns, dehydration, and even heat stroke if they’re not property taken care of in extreme heat. Some symptoms include drooling, difficulty breathy or excessive panting, mild weakness, increased respiratory and heart rates, being in a daze or a stupor, or collapsing. More extreme symptoms include an elevated body temperature of more than 104 degrees, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, and seizures.
We shudder to think of dogs in these conditions, and that’s why we’re glad to offer products that will help you give your outdoor dog the comfort it needs.
We offer several different models of crate fans, excellent for circulating air when your dog must be caged in a hot environment. With one added accessory, the Snap-On Cooling System, you can turn either size crate fan we offer into a virtual air conditioning system! Just freeze the non-toxic insert and snap the product on to a crate fan to provide up to two hours of cool enjoyment.
There’s also the Cool Bed III, which not only gives your dog a cool spot in the shade, but it also acts as a pain reliever for older or working dogs.
Aside from these great products, there are a couple of basic things you can do to help your dog, according to the ASPCA. If your dog must be outside in the summer heat, make sure he or she has a large source of fresh, clean water. Also, make sure there is enough shade where your dog can escape direct sunlight.
Petjoy is dedicated to bringing the best to your dog, and we have always enjoyed making your dog look cool, like with our Ruff Wear line of active dog products. Now we’re helping your dog stay cool as well!
