Note for Service Dog Owners:  An I.D. Badge is NOT Certification for your dog, nor is certification required by Law.  This is a tangible I.D. Badge, intended strictly for the identification of a Service Animal. We advise you to beware of sites that sell "Registration or Certification" over the internet. Once again, certification is NOT required by law, however, if you want to certify your Service Dog, Wiredog recommends you do this through a reputable trainer or even a good non-profit organization. Wiredog is committed to selling tangible products for Service Dogs. We take pride in our Vests, Harnesses, ID Products and Tags.  We do not, however, sell a "registration" certificate because we strongly disagree with the principle.

Our Customized Service Dog ID Badge gives your dog credibility by clearly stating that your dog is a Service Dog.  This ID Badge features your dog's photo along with the Handler Information and your City, State and Zip.  It also contains Service Dog information on the back directly from the United States Department of Justice that addresses common questions and concerns and provides a toll-free number to the Department of Justice should business owners or employees have further questions. We provide two cards with each order, one for your dog and one to carry in your wallet so you can easily inform businesses of your rights.  These ID Badges are the size of your Driver's License, making them extremely convenient.

Service Dog ID Badges Informs Others About Your Rights

The Americans with Disabilities Act, also known as the ADA, clearly states that proof of "certification" cannot be required by any facility or business for legal access if you meet the requirements for a person with a legal disability, and your dog meets the requirements of a service animal. While many business owners and establishments are ignorant of this law, this ID Badge will have all of the necessary contact information should they require further explanation regarding your rights when accompanied by your Service Dog.

Traveling with your Service Dog
Customized Service Dog ID Badges can help make travelling on commercial airlines much, much easier.  The Department of Transportation, also known as D.O.T.,  Service Animal Guidance for airlines states the following:

• Carriers shall accept as evidence that an animal is a service animal identifiers such as identification cards, other written documentation, presence of harnesses,tags or the credible verbal assurances of a qualified individual with a disability using the animal.

Please note that the Department of Transportation lists identification cards at the top of their list and only verbal assurance is at the bottom. Many owners of service dogs have reported that the airlines have required some sort of identification even though by law they are not allowed to do this.  Please understand that you are NOT required by law to carry one of these cards, however, they can dramatically speed up your process of getting through airport security, etc. without arguments or confrontations.
